Unfortunately, this annual commemoration of the strength, resilience and activism of South African women usually highlights the antithesis about black South African men. By this, I mean that special events, opinion pieces and governmental commemorations usually devote this month to lashing out at black men, blaming them for the lack of social cohesion in the country.
