The Commission of Employment Equity's 22nd annual report found that white and Indian population groups remained over-represented in South African business at top management level.
The report, released during an event in Johannesburg on Thursday, noted that the white population group declined by 1.5% in the past year, but the African and coloured population groups still remained under-represented at this occupational level.
Speaking at the report's launch, government leaders such as Minister of Labour and Employment Thulas Nxesi and deputy minister Boitumelo Moloi said the results meant amendments to the Employment Equity Act were all the more urgent to ensure adequate representation in top-level business management.
