SA's unemployment rate is projected to rise to 33.5% this year and worsen to 33.9% in 2025, according to the International Monetary Fund.
The country's unemployment rate was 32.1% in the fourth quarter of last year, according to the most recent data from Statistics SA. The figures showed there were 7.9 million people without jobs and that almost one in every two South Africans younger than 35 was unemployed.
