- Estefany Torres Vera (30) and Duvan Yefren Pabon had always wanted to get married as they had been together for almost a decade but were unable to due to life circumstances.
- Some months back, Estefany was hospitalised due to severe cancer, but she still wanted to marry the love of her life.
- In a fairytale ending, Estefany and Duvan did get married at the hospital and hours later, Estefany succumbed to cancer.
The couple from Colombia met in a shopping center nine years ago and they have a seven-year-old son together.

Estefany had been hospitalised at the Hospital Universitario de Santander in Bucaramanga on 18 June for stage-four cancer, which started in her stomach and metastasized, according to head surgeon Juan Pablo Serrano.

On 11 September, the couple got married in a hospital room. The bride wore a white dress and tiara but had to remain in bed throughout the nuptials.

A priest officiated the ceremony while the police organised a brass band to play outside. Police commander Luis Ernesto Garcia was responsible for starting the ceremony and making sure the band played when the bride was wheeled into the room to get married.

The whole event was live-streamed for loved ones in a house in the neighbourhood of San Francisco.
In an interview obtained by Newsflash, the groom said that it was a dream come true and that his loving partner deserved to get married "even if it happened in the last part of her life."
He added, "I wanted to make it clear that I did it because I love her."
The bride's sister, Julia Andrea Torres Vega said, "We did not want a painful goodbye, we wanted a joyful one. This gave Estefany the happiness she deserved."
Hours after the wedding, on 13 September, Estefany sadly died.
