How many times have you heard the saying ‘thank your lucky stars’ but never really understood what to be thankful for or how our stars actually influence our lives?
Being Indian born, thanking your lucky stars is something almost innate for me. Seeking the advice of an astrologer is common practice at birth, marriage and sometimes even death.
After a recent trip to India, I was surprised to find out that astrology is a livelihood for many and it appears that thousands even act out what’s written in the stars, be it daily, monthly or yearly.
But is believing in star signs like believing in Santa?
My reading has proved that astrology is in fact the mathematical application of proven laws. Astrologers study planetary influences and their effect on the world, including everything in it. However, there is still much contention on whether astrology is a science.
For me, I will always be intrigued in what my star sign says be it for the day, month or year...and I admit, I check it every morning before my day starts at work. I guess I can put it down to my Indian roots.
If you’re interested in astrology, I’ve handpicked a few books which have been a great source of information for me:
Your Personal Horoscope: Month-by-Month Forecasts for Every Sign 2011
A fantastic and in-depth book which includes monthly forecasts for every sign and all you need to know to find out what is in store for you for the rest of the year.
