You’re my Breastfriend, FHM

We love it when anyone gets behind a good cause. We love it even more when it’s the guys at FHM supporting breast cancer awareness.

I was pretty surprised when I received a sexy bra in a pretty package from our friends over at FHM. But there was no funny business involved. Luckily!

FHM has taken it upon themselves to encourage all their readers to read up on breast cancer awareness. This can only be a good thing – we’re sure there are still some men out there that think boobs are only there for their pleasure. Or that breast cancer happens to women. But that’s a fight story for another day.
To make things fun, they’ve even added a step-by-step guide for men to assist their partners in doing a breast self-exam, which will help both identify the warning signs of breast cancer, and keep things “hands-on” (their words, not mine.)

They’re also put their money where their mouth is by contributing R50 000 to Bosom Buddies, in support of awareness and education.

FHM will also continue to emphasise the importance of being attentive to the cause, and will keep on highlighting the methods that everyone can take for prevention and early diagnosis of breast cancer.

About Bosom Buddies
Bosom Buddies provides emotional support to women and men affected by breast cancer at the time of their diagnosis, during their treatment, and beyond. Bosom Buddies is run by volunteers (“buddies”) who not only assist breast cancer patients, but also their spouses, partners, parents, children, siblings and friends.

How can you get involved? If you would like to become a “buddy”, please contact 011 482 9492.
