After co-hosting the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards with LL Cool J and Jack Harlow, rapper Nicki Minaj returned to host and perform at the 2023 show.
This year, the New York rap superstar held down host duties by herself, and organisers turned the red carpet pink in honour of the rapper and her Barbie-inspired favourite colour.
Minaj (real name Onika Maraj-Petty) wore several looks throughout the night, starting with a sheer, pink bridal-inspired Dolce and Gabbana gown.
She kept the sheer theme going with a black rhinestoned dress worn over a black bra and panty, in line with the noticeable nude-illusion theme followed by other celebrities on the pink carpet.
Minaj later changed into a tight-fitting red bodysuit for her performance of her hit song, Red Ruby Da Sleeze.
