Jasmine Cephas Jones recently took to social media to break her silence on the death of her father, Ron Cephas Jones, and pay tribute to him.
It was announced on 19 August that Ron Cephas Jones had died at 66 of a pulmonary issue; the actor is known for playing William "Shakespeare" Hill in NBC's This is Us.
On Instagram, Jasmine expressed her struggle with grief after her father's death, writing, "This one is a battle."

"I keep looking at my phone, wanting to call you and wanting to hear your voice. You listened… you REALLY listened to me. You valued my opinion, and you never judged me," she wrote.
She continued to praise him for his acting skills and for being a good father.
"You led me. Mentored me. Gut laughed with me. Cried with me. Sang with me. Celebrated me. Studied with me. Cared for me… and loved me."
Jasmine ended her post: "There's so much to say, but I don't have many words. I just love you so much. I miss you beyond words. I still feel you here with me, and I will carry you in my heart forever."
