  • Cassper Nyovest and Pulane Mojaki tied the knot this past weekend.
  •  The wedding took place in Mahikeng, the pair's hometown.
  • The rapper had previously denied that he was getting married.

Whoever the little birdie was who said rapper Cassper Nyovest and his childhood friend, Pulane Mojaki, would wed on 6 April was right.

Pictures and videos of the ceremony topped the social media trends list, with many speculating that it was all a publicity stunt. Others, though, said it was a music video shoot and not a real wedding.

But, on Tuesday, the rapper took to his Instagram timeline and shared a snap with his wife.

"Jesus you are my anchor. It’s all about you. It always has been and it always will be. Thank you for choosing me, using me and fuelling me. Hebrews 6:19 declares: 'Hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast…'All of my hope is in you'," he captioned his post.

A source close to the couple revealed to News24 that the wedding was not a music video, and that it had been an intimate family affair, with no celebrities in sight, which was something the families were intentional about.

It was a weekend of festivities in Mahikeng, where the now-married couple grew up.

The source said the couple had initially planned to only have lobola negotiations - but then everything else also happened on the day, including exchanging vows at the church.

The rumour mill about the wedding began churning in March when a "leaked" wedding invitation circulated on social media.

Nyovest broke his silence on Saturday, 16 March, denying rumours of the wedding.

"Monna, you're just like me. I also found out online. They chose the date and venue for me and invited me to my own wedding. Let me know if you find anything. At least, bang tlhopetse CHIPPI! So, ke happy ka seo!!!" wrote Cassper on X.

The rapper was previously linked to Thobeka Majozi, the mother of his three-year-old son, Khotso.

But, in a sit down interview with Mpoomy Ledwaba, Nyovest revealed that he and Majozi had called it quits two years ago. He also confessed to cheating on Thobeka.

"I created a serious mess. I hurt my baby mama so much. We broke up, and I've been single for two years. I just carried on living this life.

"I didn't have a female friend I'd keep as a friend. I was really bad and didn't even realise how wrong it was. My soul felt depleted. Do you know that every time you sleep with a different woman, they leave with a piece of your soul?"
