  • Through the second phase of Miss South Africa Natasha Joubert's advocacy campaign, at least 10 lucky students will have the chance to further their studies in the technology industry.
  • Launched last year, the Natasha Joubert Collective focuses on education and entrepreneurship.
  • Previously, 31 bursary recipients were afforded the opportunity to study toward a full-time undergraduate qualification through the campaign.

Reigning Miss South Africa Natasha Joubert has made more bursaries available through her education advocacy campaign, allowing at least 10 lucky students to further their studies.

Launched in December last year, the Natasha Joubert Collective has a "big focus" on education and includes entrepreneurship.

"I am grateful that my campaign is helping some young people achieve more than they dreamed they would. The overwhelming response has strengthened my commitment to do as much as possible in the education and entrepreneurial spaces to make a difference in some people's lives," the beauty queen said.

Sponsored by computer company ASUS and coding school HyperionDey, the bursaries cover a comprehensive six-month full-stack web developer course valued at R30 000.

In February, 31 students were announced as the first bursary recipients of the Natasha Joubert Collective. The bursary covered one year of distance e-learning toward a full-time undergraduate qualification at Boston City Campus.

Aside from the bursary news, Joubert recently opened up about feeling "extremely overwhelmed" and exhausted.

"Recently, I've been struggling to feel happy, full of purpose and like I have energy," she said. "I've realised how important balance is, the small things that's actually the big things - family, my dogs, friends, doing 'nothing' and sometimes just being in my feels."

She opened up about her feelings nearly two months after her long-time boyfriend, Enrico Vermaak, asked for her hand in marriage during a romantic sunset yacht cruise.

"These past 8 months, I have tried to be on top of it; push boundaries, serve where I can, always be present in what I do and yet still struggle to feel fulfilled. And guess what? Still can't [make] everyone happy," Joubert continued.

"In the past two months, I went for blood work feeling like something in me is off; lol, jokes on me, all my levels are normal and healthy; exhaustion looks different for everyone."

Joubert added that the year of her reign came with feelings of being used as an object people could benefit from. She said there was an expectation of perfection and a misperception that she did not have feelings.

"Here's to the final 4 months of my reign, focusing on balance, firm boundaries, rest, finding joy again and appreciating my loved ones!"
