Lira stepped out in public for the first time since suffering a stroke in April.

On Thursday, the South African singer spent the night dancing in Joburg at the launch of fellow musician Tamara Dey’s new single, Disco Therapy.

"I went out last night," Lira captioned a video of Dey performing on Instagram Stories.

In another video, the 43-year-old shares a glimpse of herself and Pabi Moli enjoying the live performance.

A video on Moloi's Instagram Stories shows Lira dancing with South African artist Sylvester Falata.

On 19 April, Lira suffered a stroke while in Germany for a performance. She immediately returned to South Africa to recover.

During the last five months of her recovery, the Feel Good hitmaker has kept fans in the loop regarding how she is doing.

In May, she revealed, "Physically, I have been unaffected; I am strong and healthy. The stroke has unfortunately affected my speech."

A month later, Lira announced that thanks to continuous therapy, she regained her ability to talk, read and write and at the start of August, she revealed that while speech was still a challenge for her, she could "still sing".

Five months after suffering the stroke, Lira shared the one thing her journey had taught her thus far.
