Hollywood is back – and the 81st annual Golden Globes red carpet at the Beverly Hilton was abuzz, with the stars back in the limelight on Sunday night (7 January) after a challenging year with the months-long actors' and writers' strikes.
Red, purple, black, silver, and bright, bold materials dominated this year's red carpet. Danielle Brooks, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, and half-Nigerian Ayo Edebiri made some of the strongest style statements of the evening as they fired up the red carpet in shades of red.

South African Trevor Noah was named best dressed on several lists in an all-black suit by Ferragamo. His stylist, LaToia Cunningham worked with Noah at The Daily Show With Trevor Noah and helped create the sleek and sophisticated look.
Oprah Winfrey (The Color Purple) wore a purple long-sleeved bespoke Louis Vuitton Dress. On the red carpet, she joked, "I'm doing to purple what Barbie did for pink!"
This year saw magical creations, with Margot Robbie in an Armani creation inspired by a classic Barbie doll from 1977 and Taylor Swift in a shimmering green Gucci dress with jewellery from De Beers.
Jennifer Lopez in Nicole + Felicia couture flowing pink mermaid dress with oversized rosette sleeves. Florence Pugh sported a platinum blonde mohawk-like hairstyle with a sheer tulle red Valentino gown adorned with petals.
Sheryl Lee Ralph wore a black off-the-shoulder gown by Safiyaa with chartreuse-coloured sleeves, a draped bust, and layered back bow. She "twinned" with Janelle James, who wore a similar themed gown. Issa Rae glistened in a gold Pamella Roland column sequin gown.
Oppenheimer star Emily Blunt wore a gold and white tulle Alexander McQueen dress with Tiffany & Co. jewellery, with husband John Krasinski in a red satin blazer and black bowtie.
Kate Beckinsale (Jolt) looked resplendent in a silver crystal-covered bodysuit with tulle flower and an embellished silver sheer skirt with a sweeping train, along with 6-inch crystal platform sandals, creating an ethereal effect.
Barry Keoghan wore a red wool evening jacket and matching pants in Louis Vuitton Damier with a pearl belt chain, necklace and brooch by Tiffany & Co.
Finally, Natasha Lyonne wore an exquisite floor-length white sequin Maison Schiaparelli gown with futuristic 3-D tips.
