The cast of the hit sitcom Friends have broken their silence on the death of their co-star Matthew Perry by sharing their first joint statement.
Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer said they were "utterly devastated" by Perry's death.Perry died on 28 October at his Los Angeles home. He was found unresponsive in his jacuzzi.
Two days after his death, the cast members wrote a statement to People.
"We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family," the statement read.
"There is so much to say, but right now, we're going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss," the statement continued.
It added:
The message was signed by the five cast members.
Perry, who died at 54, played the sarcastic Chandler Bing on Friends, which ran for 10 seasons from 1994 to 2004.

The cause of his death has required additional investigation, with medical examiners still waiting for results from toxicology reports.
The co-creators of Friends, Marta Kauffman and David Crane, with the executive producer Kevin Bright, also issued a joint statement to Deadline.
"We will always cherish the joy, the light, the blinding intelligence he brought to every moment - not just to his work, but in life as well," the statement said."He was always the funniest person in the room. More than that, he was the sweetest, with a giving and selfless heart," it added."This truly is The One Where Our Hearts Are Broken."
