The Academy Awards is the most prestigious night for film and the climax of the awards season. Every other film awards show is seen as the run-up to the Oscars and is often used to predict the results of the highly anticipated ceremony.

The 2024 Oscars will be available to watch live on M-Net (DStv 101) on 11 March 2024 at 01:00. The ceremony will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel for his fourth Oscars gig.

The categories in which academy members vote usually depend on their background.
