Glowing sunsets across the veld, vast cityscapes that glitter in the night, the hustle of township life or the quiet of rural farm towns - what's the typical landscape of South Africa? And how does that match what we see in movies and TV? Blessed with a vast biodiversity and unique cities and towns, South Africa is a popular shooting location for the movie industry, both locally and internationally. Many times, however, the location is displaced to somewhere else entirely. Sometimes, you'll spot a familiar mountain range or popular city street, or see your favourite beach transformed into another country or world altogether. So, how much of what the world sees or knows of our country is filtered through the lens of entertainment?
