  • Britney Spears and Will.i.am come together for a new pop song, Mind Your Business.
  • Spears's last single was with Elton John in 2022.
  • Mind Your Business was released on Friday, 21 July.

Will.i.am and Britney Spears have teamed up for a new single titled Mind Your Business.

The electro-dance-pop song features elements of house and hip-hop. Though Spears appeared on the soundtrack for Baz Luhrmann's Elvis (2022) in a remix, Mind Your Business is her first single since Hold Me Closer with Elton John last year. Will.i.am released a song earlier this year with Lil Wayne called The Formula.

Will.i.am and Spears previously collaborated on a song in 2012 called Scream & Shout. The last time Spears released a full-length album was in 2016, with her dance-pop-infused Glory.

Spears is set to release her memoir later this year. This comes two years after she was freed of her abusive conservatorship, which was led by her father.

For 14 years, Spears was prevented from managing her life, finances, and career, according to AFP. Her conservatorship ended after a court trial in 2021.

In an interview with CBS, Will.i.am said, "I've been a fan, a friend, and a supporter of Britney throughout the years."

Talking about their new single, he added:

"Music is therapy for lots of people, [for] people that make music [and] people that listen to music. When you have that connection with music and rhythm and song and melody and harmony and you express yourself through that, it helps you with anything that you're going through. I see that every time I see [Britney Spears] dance on her Instagram story. I light up because I see how much she loves music."
