Singing policeman Thapelo Molomo's wish for his Idols SA season 18 journey came true when he was announced as part of the top 2 in the show's most recent episode.

Molomo made it to the top with Nozi, while Mpilo was eliminated from the show.

Kicking off his first of three performances, Molomo sang his new single, Phanda. For his second performance, the warrant officer performed Hugh Masekela's Thanayi, followed by The Beatles' Let It Be.

In an interview with News24, Molomo previously said he wished to make it to the finale.

He said he had followed the show for "quite a few years" before taking the plunge to enter. He added that he was inspired to audition this year as he felt "very much ready" to showcase his talent and compete for the coveted title.
