This is not one of those, ‘we locked eyes, and it was love at first sight' stories. We knew each other, and worked in the same firm for years but in different departments.

We would always bump into each other at meetings, but I never looked at him in that way until he was promoted to a senior position in my department and became my boss. I saw him in a different light; he was such a breath of fresh air.

We grew closer as we began working together and started sharing more about our personal lives - the ups, downs, and just became transparent with one another. When we met, I was still healing from an emotionally abusive relationship. Drawing closer to him and being open was so refreshing. He made it so easy to be vulnerable with him.
