A relationship with the in-laws is an important one. From the first day of meeting your potential in-laws, you want to impress them and naturally hope that they will like you.
Essentially, you marry into their family. But this relationship is not easy to navigate as some in-laws are difficult to get along with, or vice versa. It may take time and work to form this bond. Even though it may seem like a tall task, it is worth a try. It is the holiday season and most people will be spending their time with in-laws.
Marriage therapist Lehlohonolo Mazindo says getting along with the in-laws requires one to be intentional. "Married couples should be intentional about alleviating their in-laws' insecurities and breaking down the walls of rejection erected in fear that you might not have come in peace."
