Wedding receptions are light-hearted moments where toasts, speeches and roasts are made. Here, family and friends gather to congratulate the couple after they've tied the knot and exchanged wedding vows.

One by one, they grab the mic to say a few words of love and well wishes to the couple before they thank everybody for coming and share a few compliments. This couple began their wedding reception with a twist, roasting their bridal party when they entered the reception.

A viral clip of a US couple roasting their bridal party has been making rounds on social media. Rachel Hoeft and Drew Oddo tied the knot in front of 115 wedding guests, and during their bridal party entrance at their wedding receptions, they took a couple of jabs at them, mentioning secrets, toxic traits and red flags. This was a surprise to their bridal party, as the couple told New York Post, "Our bridesmaids and groomsmen had no idea we were going to roast them. We thought it was a fun way to hype up our best friends while humbling them at the same time," Rachel said.

The couple shared that although the roasts may have seemed harsh or revealing to social media users, they were simply saying things that have been joked about in the friendship group. "We've known them for many years, and most of them have known each other for a long time too. These are all things that we've joked about with each other for years. Nothing was a surprise to anyone," Rachel added. The roasts included things like, "Let's give it up for Chris and Deja. Deja is smart enough to be a Master of Science but didn't realise right away that her girl cats were actually boys. Chris will jump out of helicopters to fight fires but is terrified of his mother-in-law.".
