  • A bride on Facebook shares how stressed out she is after waiting nine weeks to see her wedding pictures.
  • The photographer has not sent a single wedding picture and she keeps making empty promises.
  • The newlyweds and photographer had a verbal agreement about the deadline for when images were to be sent.

It has been nine weeks of waiting, and still, she has not seen not a single picture from her wedding.

The stressed-out bride shares her frustration on Facebook because, at this point, she doesn't know what to do.

She and her husband got married on 17 August 2021. The photographer was paid in full and given a hefty tip right before she left our wedding.

"I've reached out to our photographer four weeks after the wedding to see how she was doing and she said that she had computer issues. Then after the sixth week, my husband reached out to her."

Her response was, "I'm getting it done!"

That didn't happen. The newlyweds are still waiting.

"She told us we would get sneak peeks within 24 hours after the wedding, nothing. She said she'll have pictures ready in four weeks, nothing. She said our wedding video will take time and gave us eight weeks, still nothing," the stressed bride writes.

"We've already hit eight weeks after the wedding and we still don't have any updates regarding our pictures and videos (from the same person/company)."

There was no written contract and they went into a verbal agreement about dates and timelines. The bride says this was their biggest mistake. The photographer has made a string of broken promises that the bride does not know how to ask for her pictures in a 'nice' way that will yield results.

Photographer and former lawyer, Samantha Clarke, tells Brides.com that photography contracts are important and should also include a deliverables timeline. Adding that final wedding pictures can take weeks or even months, which can be a point of frustration

A Facebook user advises the bride that eight weeks is a standard waiting period.

"She should have really communicated that though and not be rude, I would just message her, 'we understand if there is a delay, but as our wedding photographer, it's your duty to communicate with us how they are going and if there are any delays, as they are now late'.

"If she doesn't get back to you, I would then threaten legal action (before you do make sure you have contracts, emails and messages screenshots or saved and bank payments too," says the user.

Another user suggests that maybe the bride should give the photographer some space.

"Photographers/videographers have been inundated with work after so many people rescheduled their weddings due to the pandemic. If you want a nice result, give her the time and space to produce a nice result."
