  • Photographers don't always deliver.
  • This bride edited her stepson out of her wedding images, and her husband is unhappy.
  • She says she wanted pictures of just herself and her husband.

Photographers don't always deliver, especially during an event where bad lighting or even a silly wardrobe malfunction is captured.

In these circumstances, there are quite a few things that we might not be happy with when we receive the final product.

Those imperfect images, of course, can be edited before final printing. The same goes for brides when they receive their wedding pictures; there are certain things they might want removed from the still images of the special day. However, this bride took things too far by removing her stepson from the wedding photos, causing her new husband to want to cancel the honeymoon.

Taking to Reddit, a newlywed groom told readers that he had just married his wife, Natalie. He says that she embraced and adored him instantly when she met his 12-year-old son from his previous marriage. "Let me just say that I 100% knew for a fact that my wife loved and got along with him; otherwise, we wouldn't even let this progress to the wedding." He continued to list all the ways that Natalie had shown him love before getting married. "She decorated his room when we got our new apartment, paid for two of his trips, gave him and still gives him an allowance and always buys him stuff."

When the wedding came, everything went smoothly and drama free until the photos arrived, and he noticed something upsetting. "I found out that she had cut and edited out my son from the majority of our wedding photos. At first, I was in a state of shock and really couldn't believe it was her and thought it was the idiot photographer who did this, but he told me he did this based on her wishes and made her more copies as well." He added that he couldn't hold it in and blew up on her and asked what this was about. "She calmly explained that the reason she did this was because she wanted some photos to be just us two, which was nonsense because there were still family members who weren't cut out of the photos."

Natalie said that he was ruining their honeymoon over simple adjustments. She then proceeded to show him unedited copies. Still, he couldn't help but lose his temper because she excluded his son. "The argument escalated, and she wanted to call my son and ask him to show that he doesn't really care, but I told her not to do it and get him involved. She also tried to call my mother-in-law, but I decided I won't risk getting into a fight with her about it and risk the mutual respect we have." His mother-in-law contacted him anyway to explain that her daughter didn't mean to exclude his son.

"She said I should know that as a bride, she must've felt overwhelmed, and so I should be easy on her. I decided to cancel the rest of the honeymoon reservation and just go home. She hasn't stopped crying. [She says] I'm being awful to her for no reason other than wanting some pictures for just her and me and that I keep forgetting everything she's done for my son so far." Users took to the comment section to share their opinions, with one saying, "What the husband is describing as affection from his new wife is literally just throwing money at the kid. It sounds like she's buying his favour instead of putting in actual effort to be his step-parent." Another added, saying, "If she wanted a photo of you two by yourselves, she could've asked for it on the wedding day."
