  • Brides are always looking for unique ways to make their wedding entrance.
  • This Irish bride surprised guests by arriving at the church on the back of a tractor.
  • She did this to honour her childhood spent on a farm.

They say every woman has thought about how their wedding day will go, from the wedding dress, the cake, her entrance at the wedding to the song that will play as she walks down the aisle, the colour scheme and, of course, the groom. Fantasy planning also typically includes incorporating childhood memories into the wedding in any shape or form. This bride decided to surprise wedding guests by arriving at the church on the back of a tractor.

The 33-year-old Kathryn McKay arrived at her wedding in a Massey Ferguson 135 driven by her father, Henry McKay. She told the British news service SWNS that she chose this way to honour her childhood memories of growing up on a farm. "Locals were waving and beeping horns; then a truck pulled out behind us just before the chapel. This made me laugh even more. We arrived safely without any hiccups or rain and had a beautiful service with our friends and family."

Kathryn got married to 34-year-old Kevin Logan, who is a construction worker. They tied the knot at the church in their hometown Carnlough, County Antrim, in Northern Ireland. Before the wedding, Kathryn's father repainted the $6 500 (R117 380) tractor. The couple had a standby just in case the weather changed, which caused a delay. "The service was at noon. It rained.... so we had to hold off for a bit. We had a Range Rover on hand that was going to take me to the chapel, but thankfully the rain cleared, we honestly could not have asked for a better wedding, and our hearts are so full."
