When you look at wedding content on social media, you will notice that more and more couples are going to Home Affairs and signing or eloping. By doing so, they save so much money on wedding planning, décor, catering, and wedding attires for both the couple and their wedding party. After signing their marriage certificate, they opt for a small, intimate dinner or lunch with close family and friends.

This couple followed the same route and have been married for four years.

Meet 60-year-old Gregory and his partner, 34-year-old Alridge Edwards-Pieterse, who met on Facebook. When the pair met, they had both just come out of complicated and painful relationships with their partners where one of their exes had unfortunately passed on.
