South African households, much like many others globally, are struggling with the rising cost of living and inflated food prices, but resorting to cereal for dinner might not be the best option.  

Gary Pilnick, the multimillionaire CEO of US food processing giant Kellogg's, recently made a public statement suggesting that families that are struggling to make ends meet should consider eating cereal for dinner.

In the interview on CNBC, Pilnick said, "The cereal category has always been affordable, and it tends to be a great destination when it comes to consumers that are under pressure.
