Stella McCartney has "challenged" herself to be "responsible" with her new skincare line.

The 50-year-old fashion designer, who is the daughter of Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney, has teamed up with luxury brand LVMH to create the skincare range.

Stella has "transferred the key principles" of veganism and cruelty-free production from her fashion house over to her new venture.

"It was important to me that the brand and the products needed to have my vegan and cruelty-free principles at its heart. I'm proud to say that we have been accredited by the Cruelty Free International Leaping Bunny programme and The Vegan Society," the designer said, according to BANG Showbiz.

Stella has launched three skincare products as part of the brand in the form of a reset cleanser, a restorative cream, and a serum. She says that she had been on an "explorative journey" in creating them and insisted she would "not use anything else" now.

In an interview with Harper's Bazaar, the designer said she always had a love for skincare, recalling that she tried to launch a range before, but it was "ahead of its time".

"I feel so privileged and lucky that I'm able to come at it again. When I did it before, it was too ahead of its time, and people didn't understand what I was doing," she told the publication.

"Creating your own skincare line was unheard of, and my whole career, up until the last couple of years, I had to fight, push, and challenge. It's only now that I feel that I've landed at a place where I feel comfortable asking questions like what's the source of this ingredient or fabric. I don't want to interact with anyone who won't ask those questions of themselves or of the industry."
