  • Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger is well known for his muscular physique.
  • The 76-year-old is extremely disciplined when it comes to his gym routine and has now opened up about the technique he uses to remain consistent.
  • The trick is to not think too much when getting up for an early workout.
  • "Don't think when you get up because stupid stuff comes into your mind and negative stuff," the actor advised.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is known for his iconically chiselled physique, and even in his 70s, the former California governor is still putting in his hours at the gym.

If you're someone who loves getting their workout in first thing in the morning but struggles to find the motivation to get out of bed, the actor has a trick that he has used throughout his career.

Speaking to People, Schwarzenegger said he "doesn't think" when he gets up to go to the gym. He is in high spirits in the morning, so the first thing the star does is feed his animals, and then he heads straight to the gym.

"And so this is why I say to people, 'The key thing is in the morning, do right away something.' Don't think when you get up because stupid stuff comes into your mind and negative stuff," he told the publication.

"I said, 'Just roll out a bed, get on your bike and start riding the bike and work out and do something physical.' And then afterwards, you will feel much better about yourself and about the world, the way you look at the world and everything like that."

A great workout can do wonders for the mind and body.

Schwarzenegger describes his day before hitting the gym as a "black and white film," which turns to colour post-workout.

The actor says his disciplined approach to working out is what has helped him become successful in many aspects of his personal life and career.

"These are the rules that I used in order to be successful and in order to be also successful in giving something back."
