September is Albinism Awareness Month. Many people with this genetic condition live in fear because of the black market where body parts of people with albinism are used as muti.
People with a family member with albinism should be alerted to this to help protect them. Criminals increase chances of success by getting to know an area and seeking out vulnerable targets. People should change their routines regularly and be aware of their surroundings.
