The main house at the well-known Lombardini Guest Farm in Jeffreys Bay reportedly burned down in the early hours of this morning, April 9.
According to an eyewitness report, the main house was the only structure that burned down, while the rest of the game farm, which includes guest houses, a chapel, and wildlife, has not been affected.
Lombardini Guest Farm is owned by Susan Lottering, the wife of Johan Lottering, a co-founder of Value Added Life.
In a statement released by the Lombardini Guest Farm on April 9, it confirmed that the main lodge burned down while the lapa and wedding venues were intact.
It further said that the Lombardini Spa & Wellness will remain closed until they have assessed the extent of the damage.
“This is the saddest morning,” the statement said.
Kouga executive mayor, Hattingh Bornman confirmed that the Kouga Fire Department was at Lombardini Guest Farm today, April 9, to deal with the fire.
According to the Lombardini Guest Farm’s website, this exquisite game farm is located only a few minutes from Jeffreys Bay and Cape St Francis.
