At just nine, Bayley Myburgh, a model at Next Development Academy, is the current first princess in the Little Miss Petite South Africa competition.
To celebrate her 10th birthday, she hopes the community will assist her in arranging a Family Day at Erica House, a children’s safe house in Bethelsdorp, on Saturday, July 22.
Amber Blommetjie, co-director of a youth development academy and modelling school, said that Bayley, who started at Next Development Academy when she was just four, is passionate about giving back and helping others.
“At first, it took so much bribing, encouraging, and pep talks to get her to walk on a runway modelling platform, and to partake in charity events. However, today, she’s a confident model,” said Blommetjie.
To celebrate her 10th birthday and to give back to the community, Bayley hopes to enrich the lives of the young children at Erica House. Blommetjie said she is hoping that the community can assist Bayley and her parents in making the family day a success.
“We have chosen Erica House because we could really see that the kids in this institution are in dire need of assistance,” she added.
As part of a family day, there will be food, entertainment, pampering, and grooming sessions.
They are hoping to receive assistance from barbers, hairstylists, and food sponsorships.
