SAPS Humewood detectives are investigating an inquest after following the death of a 55-year-old man at a restaurant on Marine Drive this morning, April 11.
According to police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, it is alleged that at approximately 10:20, an employee from a plumbing company in Gqeberha was busy with maintenance work at the restaurant on Marine Drive, Summerstrand.
She said that while the employee was busy on the roof, working on a water pipe, its alleged that he collapsed and fell backwards.
"A post-mortem will determine the cause of death.
An inquest docket was opened and is under investigation," Janse Van Rensburg added.
The name of the deceased will be withheld until his next of kin has been informed.
