“Titanium Securitas control centre received a panic signal from residents in York Street at midday," a spokesperson for Titanium Securitas Kobus Kotze related. "After making immediate contact with the client they informed them the suspect was sitting on top of the girl and hitting her head against the ground.”

He said the girl resisted her assailant when he tried to grab her iPad. In the struggle she fell to the ground where the man climbed on top of her wrestling the iPad off her.

“Armed response officers, along with the Crime Prevention Unit, immediately made their way to the location where the suspect, meanwhile, had fled with the victim's iPad. With the assistance of the public, Titanium  officers tracked the suspect down minutes later. He was identified by the girl as her assailant.”
