A woman sustained multiple stab wounds in Parklands when resisting two unknown men who demanded her cellphone.

Table View police spokesperson Capt Adriana Chandler said police were summoned to a scene on the corner of Gie and Circle Road in Parklands on Sunday 17 March shortly before 20:00.

“The officers found an unknown woman with multiple stab wounds lying on the ground,” she said.

“Their first priority was to get medical assistance for the victim, and they rushed her to a nearby medical facility.”

The only information officers could obtain was that the woman was approached by two unknown men who demanded her cellphone.

She refused to give it to them, and the men started stabbing her, took her phone and ran away.

“No arrests have yet been executed,” Chandler said.

“A case of attempted murder is being investigated.”
