After the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) disqualified former president Jacob Zuma from being on the ballot sheet for next month's election due to his 15-month prison sentence for contempt of court conviction, Zuma challenged this decision and won in the Electoral Court on Tuesday.
The court dismissed the IEC's decision, meaning Zuma can contest a seat in Parliament, but granted the IEC leave to appeal.
The former president is number one on the uMkhonto weSizwe Party's candidate list.
