The South African Children’s Home in Cape Town turns 215 this month. Children with no other refuge have received loving care here since 1808. With government contributing only 30 percent of the running costs, the home relies heavily on donations.
To celebrate its 215th birthday, the home aims to raise 215 donations of R215 each. The funds will be used for school transport, meals, and general care. Contributions can be made via SnapScan or EFT. Click here for SnapScan or scan the QR code below.

Currently children between the ages of six and 18 are cared for at the home. The goal is to reunite children with their parents and communities wherever possible. Great emphasis is placed on academic support and emotional development while the children are resident in the home. The management is particularly proud of children who go on to tertiary studies and who thrive in society.
As part of the celebrations, Capetonian Jack Parow came to congratulate the children and staff on this special milestone. Click here to watch the video.
