water cuts across the country and targeted water infrastructure damage are a
national security risk ahead of the elections.
News24 has established South Africa's security cluster has marked the widespread interruption to the supply of water as one of the top threats affecting the security of the country during the period leading up to the 29 May elections.
Two well-placed sources in the security cluster confirmed the country's top securocrats have said "the lack of water supply in many areas is no longer a service delivery issue and carries the risk of becoming a threat to the stability of the country".
