The IFP has written a letter to ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa proposing "peace talks" following the mic-grabbing incident at an event to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the death of the late king Dinuzulu kaCetshwayo in KwaZulu-Natal in KwaCeza, near Ulundi last Saturday.
IFP president Velenkosini Hlabisa said he wrote to Ramaphosa on 21 March seeking to find a middle ground on how to best deal with the incident, which has seemingly placed the KwaZulu-Natal province on the brink of renewed ANC, IFP political violence.
Hlabisa said: "I requested that our parties nominate three members of our respective national executive committees, and these three side members will jointly facilitate the engagement of our provincial executive committees in KZN to ensure that we deliver the sustainable and desired results."
