The Department of Water and Sanitation is looking to create a register of polluters in the latest bid to curb the pollution of the country's water sources.
On Friday, Water and Sanitation Minister Senzo Mchunu said many of the country's rivers had unacceptable pollution levels.
He and Deputy Minister David Mahlobo hosted a workshop in Vanderbijlpark after inspecting the Vaal River, which is overrun with water lettuce and water hyacinth.
