"I can still hear his voice. I spoke to him just 30 minutes before he was struck down by a tree that he always marvelled at."
These are the emotional words of Katrina Kakwata, whose security guard husband, Alfons, was killed when a massive tree fell on top of him while he was patrolling the Diemersfontein Estate farm in Wellington on Sunday morning.
"He left the house just after 05:00 to be on time for his 06:00 shift. I packed him a nice breakfast and lunch because I knew the weather was going to be cold, and he should have nice food to keep him warm," she told News24.
