Thursday's weather: Life's a beach! Damaging winds, waves expected along KwaZulu-Natal's coast

The South African Weather Service has issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for damaging winds and waves leading to disruption of beachfront, harbours and port activities expected along the KwaZulu-Natal coast.

Partly cloudy and cool conditions are forecast for Gauteng with warm temperatures expected in the north.

The expected UVB sunburn index is very high.

Mpumalanga will be cloudy in the east, otherwise partly cloudy and cold to cool conditions are forecast, with drizzle along the escarpment, as well as evening fog.

Cloudy conditions are forecast in the east of Limpopo, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm temperatures are expected, with evening fog along the escarpment.

The North West will be fine and cool to warm, becoming partly cloudy over the east in the afternoon.

Morning fog is expected in the east of the Free State where it will be cold, otherwise fine and cool conditions are forecast.

The Northern Cape can expect cloudy conditions with morning fog patches in the extreme south where it will be cold, otherwise fine and cool to warm but hot temperatures are forecast in places along the coast.

The wind along the coast will be a moderate south-easterly, becoming fresh to strong in the afternoon.

Partly cloudy conditions are forecast in the Western Cape's eastern side, otherwise fine and cold to cool temperatures are expected, except in the west where it will be warm.

The wind along the coast will be a moderate to fresh south-easterly, but strong along the south, becoming moderate to fresh from the afternoon.

The expected UVB sunburn index is high.

The western half of the Eastern Cape will be partly cloudy and cool.

The wind along the coast will be a moderate to south-westerly.

Partly cloudy and cool conditions are also expected for the eastern half of the province, with light morning rain along the coast and adjacent interior.

The wind along the coast will also be a moderate south-westerly.

KwaZulu-Natal will be partly cloudy and cool, but warm in places in the east. It will become cloudy in the afternoon with isolated showers and rain in the east and extreme south.

The wind along the coast will be a fresh to strong south-westerly.
