Intercape has suffered around R50 million in damages and spent R10 million and counting in legal fees amid continued attacks on its buses, predominantly on routes in the Eastern Cape.
The long-haul bus company, which projects to transport an estimated 360 000 people in December, has been embroiled in an 18-month legal battle to compel the authorities to protect its passengers, drivers and property.
Intercape's court efforts have two legs - one involving the authorities' alleged failure to come up with a safety plan and another in which Intercape wants authorities to explain why no arrests have been made for the attacks on its buses.
