Western Cape cops boost their numbers with additional forces after deadly Cape Town weekend

A spate of shootings in Cape Town over the weekend has prompted Western Cape police to boost their numbers with deployments to "some parts of the Cape Flats".

The officers, from various units, were deployed on Sunday afternoon, according to police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie.

On Monday, patrolled through Woodlands to quell ongoing gang violence.
