Here are some of the reasons we're obsessed with this Hollywood hottie:
1) He recycles
Jake isn’t just a chiselled face and rock-hard abs. The star is dedicated to helping the environment and not only does he regularly recycle, but he spends over R4000 a year to have trees planted in a Mozambique forest!
After filming The Day After Tomorrow, he even flew to the Arctic to promote awareness of climate change.
2) He’s romantic
Despite having his pick of the ladies, Jake is a one-woman kind of man. The Love and Other Drugs star says he loves enjoys spoiling his girlfriends.
“I think I have a romantic sense of the world. When I’m in a relationship, I enjoy making a woman feel good,” he said.
“I like making her feel loved. I think sacrifice and compromise, all of those things are romantic.”
Swoon!
3) He’s generous
The actor was once spotted topping up the parking meters of nearby cars to stop the drivers from getting a ticket.
He was just shopping in Beverly Hills, being all gorgeous, when he noticed a few parking meters were about to expire, so before they could be given tickets, Jake when from car to car paying for each of their parking.
Where did they make this man?!
His family has always been invested in helping the community and for Jake’s 13th birthday he volunteered at a homeless shelter and even had his birthday party there.
4) He can sing
Not only is Jake an incredibly talented actor with stand-out performances in films like Brokeback Mountain and Donnie Darko, but the guy can sing too!
My future husband The Oscar nominated actor hosted Saturday Night Live in 2007 and wowed audiences with his rendition of And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going from the movie and musical Dreamgirls.
Who wouldn’t want to be serenaded by this heart-throb?
5) He can read
Okay, okay, I know being able to read isn’t exactly a special skill but Jake loves to read and even named his two dogs after the characters from his favourite book, To Kill a Mockingbird.
And we love a man who loves books.
Jake’s German Shepherd is called Atticus and his Puggle is Boo Radley after the characters from the famous novel by Harper Lee.
