Love In The Time of Inter-Seasonal dressing is being published as we speak, March edition.
It's getting chilly and no longer is it acceptable to be clad entirely in crocheted doilies. Sorry festival goers. So, you really have two choices: get really good at dealing with chronic goose-flesh, or start dressing a tad warmer. The former is cheaper, but the latter is much more fun...
1. The sleeveless coat
The sleeveless coat is much like a second-skin: it adds. It adds warmth, texture, colour (potentially), and perhaps even some attitude.
Add a lightweight coat to a dress like Asanda did here or on colder days pair a warmer piece over a turtleneck and jeans for some much-needed comfort dressing.
2. Trench it
The classic trench is classic for a reason. No it's not only for girls who pretend they live inside Eliza Doolittle's ridiculous world, but it is the perfect complement to any outfit. Also it has the fabulous potential to cover up any hideous outfit you might be wearing underneath. No milk in the house? No worries. Pajamas + trench = YES!
You can also make wise fashion decisions like Raya Rossi and style it thusly...
Suede
So, I'm not going to lie to you and say that suede is an "easy" fabric. No. It's the WORST! But it looks soooo pretty.
Cleaning it is not the easiest, yet it is THE '70s throwback your wardrobe needs this season. Plus it's warm and soft.
So, try to wear it either indoors or on days that the forecast is as clear your schedule once was (you were 5). But wear it.
Amy's coat is a dream. But skirts, shirts, dresses and pants will also do very nicely.
4. Sporty
Add sneakers or a sports jersey to any monochrome outfit and voila! Nothing like effortless dressing to take the edge off Seasonal affective disorder (SAD).
5. Texture
Mix it up with texture if you are scared of prints: leather boots, fringe or suede skirt, cotton peasant top - you are basically now a character in Sex and the City.
