Fact file
Name: Lee-Anne Summers
Occupation: Actress
Location: Cape Town, (but she spends most of her time in Jozi)

According to Lee-Anne, the best beauty advice she's ever received it to simply stay out of the sun. "I am beyond paranoid about my skin and avoid the sun as much as possible," she says. One of her favourite sunscreens? Dermalogica WaterBlock Solar Spray SPF 30.

Cosmetics-wise, Lee-Anne loves Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara in Black, MAC Lipgelee in Jelly Babe (an easy to apply see-through shade), MAC Powder Blush in Strada (which she often uses as eye shadow) and MAC Fluidline gel liner in Blacktrack.  "To highlight cheekbones, I use Benefit Moon Beam, a liquid luminiser."

As far as skin care goes, Lee-Anne's a big fan of SK-II, a Japanese brand that isn't available in South Africa. (You can, however, take a peek at their website over here, www.sk-ii.com, and buy it online via www.strawberrynet.com).  "'They make the best eye-cream in the world and their moisturizer really suits my skin type," she says. She also likes to scrub up with Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant every evening before apply their Extra Firming Booster under her moisturizer. "Professional facials at Environ are a very important part of my overall skincare regime and I always apply sun block in the morning."

Hair-wise, she prefers Joico shampoo and conditioner and tries not to use a blow drier or flat iron unless it's absolutely necessary. "The best hair care tip I've received was from Wayne, my hairdresser at the One & Only hotel in Cape Town. He told me to never towel dry my hair," she says. "When I get out of the shower I wrap my hair in an old T-shirt instead and this prevents breakage." It's important that Lee-Anne look after her crowning glory – as it is, she's had more than one 'hair-mare'. "Once I wanted to dye my hair a light golden brown and the hairdresser ended up dying my hair almost black. When I left the hairdresser that day I cried all the way home," she reveals. "I had to have my hair stripped and highlighted and it took forever to get it back to blonde. It really damaged the condition and I never went back to that hairdresser again."

Now it's time for a few quick questions!

Got any exciting projects coming up?
Look out for my cameo appearances on Rhythm City (between January and February) as well as on Binnelanders later this year.

What's your biggest beauty no-no?
Girls who wear too much make-up, especially during the day. It was a huge shock to me when I returned to Joburg after years of living in Cape Town. The girls here wear so much more make up than the girls at the coast. There is nothing worse than looking at someone and seeing that their foundation is so thick that you could scrape it off with a butter knife.

Tell us, what perfume do you wear?
This is going to sound really batty, but I often coordinate my outfit and my perfume using the color palette of my clothes and the color of the perfume bottle. If I'm wearing pinks, I will wear the Beckham Signature for Her by Victoria Beckham, for bright colors I wear and, if I'm wearing darks colors, I wear Rose Absolute by Stella McCartney. That one is my absolute favorite. For every day, I wear Wakely by Abercrombie & Fitch.

If we had to snoop around in your bathroom (and we sooo would given the chance), what would we find in your shower or around your bath?
You'd find lots and lots of candles around my tub. I normally shower, but when I do decide to run a bath I go all out with the candles and music – usually Ella Fitzgerald. Smooth skin is important and I love Dermalogica Exfoliating Body Scrub. After a shower, I use The Body Shop Body Butter. At the moment I'm using the Papaya variant.

Finally, do you have a li'l beauty secret or piece of advice for the girls at w24.co.za?

In a nutshell, getting eight hours of sleep every night and drinking lots of water is the secret to great skin. If you smoke; quit (not just for your skin) and always wear sunscreen.
