This is the most important part of your face

accreditation

A nose, a big pout or a great set of eyes can really set your face apart from others, but what is that one feature that really makes you unique? Believe it or not, it's your brows.

According to Yahoo! Health it can really make or break a face. They really set your face apart from someone else's and when altered can make you look very different than before.

Not only are these hairy bits a good filter against dust and sweat, but according to Yahoo! Health it has a crucial social significance. Everyone uses their eyebrows whilst expressing emotion and this differs from person to person. A study by Javid SadrÙ, Izzat Jarud and Pawan Sinha, published in Perception, reads:

"Another domain in which the importance of eyebrows has been acknowledged is that of emotional expression, not to mention nonverbal communication in general. Unlike the fixed, bony brow ridge that may have graced our ancestors, the `false' brow of eye-brow hair is mobile enough to produce a broad range of facial signals. Our eyebrows can communicate the extremes of aggression or fear, and, in combination with other coordinated facial movements, the entire range of human emotions."

Just think about it, how often do you see a person show anger using their nose?!

Over the last few years the world has become obsessed with on fleek eyebrows, like those owned by supermodel, Cara Delevingne. Yes, her brows even have their very own Twitter handle!

No shame

According to Yahoo! Health, a 2003 study was conducted where participants were shown 25 images of celebrities without eyebrows (think Kim K with bleached brows below)...

In the second part of the study the same focus group was shown 25 new images, this time the snaps were of celebs without eyes (yikes!). The participants managed to correctly identify about 56 % of the eyeless celebs, while only 46 % could identify those who were brow-less. That means eyebrows are even more important for recognising people than eyes.

Eyebrows truly frame the face. Here's some advice on how to up your brow game:
