The Salt actress who is also a goodwill ambassador for the U.N used the platform to urge the council to take a stronger stand against war zone rape.
“You set the bar,” she said. “If the… council sets rape and sexual violence in conflict as a priority it will become one and progress will be made. If you do not, this horror will continue,” she told the Council.
The council of leaders later adopted a resolution that would tackle the termination of sexual violence in armed conflicts.
She is honestly one of the few Hollywood actresses who seem to be involved with society enough to want to make a good change in the world. She definitely has our full support.
