Sick and tired of racism!

accreditation

You know, I am so sick and tired of having to continually hear and read about people of colour being brutally beaten and even killed simply for the crime of being a person of colour.

I am tired of reading comments that have been written by racist white people defending these heinous crimes and these heinous people.

I am tired of having to find a non-offensive way to write to you so that maybe I can get through to you, so that maybe you can understand what the year 2014 has meant for people of colour and what it continues to mean today.

I am tired of extending the olive branch to the racist population of South Africa. And today it ends!

So I am going to spell it out to you: no more euphemisms, no more taking your racist and quite frankly idiotic ideologies into account because clearly you and all the racist people who like your sickening comments will NEVER extend the same courtesy to me.

So let me be frank with you: every single moment of every single day I am reminded that I am black. Now before one of you point out that I am black, or that being white in South Africa is also difficult, let me break down what that means.

I am black. I know that and I am not ashamed of it, but when you racist South Africans set out to remind me I’m black this is the reminder you are giving me. I am black and beneath you, I am subhuman and unworthy of your respect, I somehow offend your white virtue.

Purely by being present on this planet I insult you, and your entitled opinion. You, racist South African, walk this planet thinking you are a god among men and I, as the woman of colour that I am, should not forget that.

I should not let this complex thing called time trick me into believing that I am somehow your equal because in your mind I am not, I never will be, and I am not even allowed to think that I am.

How dare I sit there and talk about the heinous way in which you view the world? How dare I point out the fact that when your racist sons go out and beat a woman, a mother of children while spitting acidic racial slurs at her, they are being evil.

How dare I point out the fact that excusing a group of "supposedly educated students" for continuing the stereotypes in place as a result of institutional racism by painting their faces black or making atrocious videos where they force black workers to embarrass themselves on camera is evil!

This highlights the wicked undertones in their character because like it or not the fact is: RACISM IS EVIL and people who practice racist acts have EVIL TENDENCIES.

If you don’t believe me, let’s revisit the complex thing called time, shall we.

I'll begin with the entry of the slave era, where millions of people of colour where stolen from their homes, brutally beaten, raped and malnourished for 200 years, and that is just the tip of the iceberg.

That’s 200 years of psychological trauma, 200 years filled with generations of people of colour who know nothing but the violent nature afforded to them by their racist white counterparts who continued to grow rich of the backs of their labour.

This, as we all know, was the precursor to the forever infamous Apartheid era here in South Africa.

Where - thanks to acts like the land reform - children of colour who lived in the outskirts of the city, would suffer from diseases like kwashiorkor, which is unheard of in an urban setting.

People of colour lived lives where being gunned down for their race was a daily reality.

That’s millions of mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters vanishing without a trace because this evil regime couldn’t be bothered with the fact that the person they had just killed had a life, had people who would never know what happened to them.

South Africa is built on the nameless graves of the people this RACIST AND EVIL ideology perpetuates, and when the freedom fighters came calling for justice there was no civil war as many had thought there would be.

Instead there was an offering of peace to the perpetrators by the very people who were oppressed. There was an offer to begin to rebuild this country as a united front, however that peace would come at a price and the truth is nobody in this country has paid that price more than the millions of people of colour in South Africa.

Don’t believe me? well, all you have to do is jump into your cars and drive down to an area that is predominately made up of people of colour and see what that racist regime created, because the truth is the reason people in these areas are not educated and resort to crime in order to survive is directly linked to institutional racism.

The reason these areas are so impoverished is because of the traumatic history left behind, colonisation was most powerful through its use of the oppression of the mind and through the streets of these areas that ideology rings so true.

So I ask you how you could sit there and continue to callously throw around your racial slurs like I as a person of colour owe you something? Like I should somehow look kindly on the evil acts of racist people in South Africa?

I will not, I cannot, I'm done. So if you to know what the biggest problem with South Africa is racist fool, look in the mirror because its you!
