Reese Witherspoon embarrasses herself

When I heard Reese was arrested, I thought someone must have confused her for Lindsay Lohan or Amanda Bynes. I mean, she really doesn’t seem like the type to get up to shit and then get arrested for it.

Well, here’s what happened: Reese and her husband, Jim Toth, were stopped by police for suspicion of drunken driving. Jim, who was apparently driving in the wrong lane, took a breathalyzer test and blew a .139 – the legal limit is 0.8. Sjoe, someone had a nice time.

So, of course, the cops had to arrest Jim (because drunk driving is NOT okay) but told the Sweet Alabama star to stay in the car. She didn’t listen, got out of the car and reportedly shouted: “Do you know my name?”

When the arresting officer said he didn’t, Reese apparently replied with: “You’re about to find out who I am.”

Urgh. How cringe-worthy! We loathe celebs who use their fame to try and get out of things. So uncool. But the cops got their own back and arrested both Jim and his famous wife.

They were released on bail the next day.

Now, the Oscar-winning actress has released a statement apologising for her behaviour: "I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said. It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. I have nothing but respect for the police and I'm very sorry for my behaviour."

Shame man. Poor Reese. We forgive you honey!
