Bill learns the extent of damage that he's caused in his relationship with his son because of his latest scheme to control Liam's life.
Steffy and Hope separately fill their mothers in on the recent developments with Liam without divulging all of the details about Bill's involvement. Taylor and Brooke bicker over which of their daughters they think that Liam will choose.
Brooke comforts Hope as she prepares herself mentally and emotionally for possibly living a life without Liam. Ridge painfully admits to Taylor that he feels responsible for Steffy's insecurities with men.
After much thought and consideration, Liam makes a final decision about which woman he wants to be with: Hope or Steffy.
Fresh from liberating himself from Steffy, Liam and Hope promise to spend the rest of their lives together. Steffy has not lost hope of a future with Liam, thinking that he just needs time away to realize she is the one for him.

Liam feels a bit defeated when Steffy agrees to give him what he wants … but on her terms. Hope plans a press conference to make a major announcement.
Ridge and Taylor worry about the emotional state of Steffy, especially with the press conference taking place in the same building and the public announcement of the end of her marriage.

Family members gather at Brooke's house to celebrate Hope and Liam. Rick vows to Hope that he will make up for his lost time with her by ensuring that she has a happy life with Liam.
As an attempt to eliminate additional drama in his family, Ridge tries to talk Steffy into signing the annulment papers. A vulnerable Steffy makes a heartfelt confession to Ridge about her marriage.
Steffy turns to Taylor for comfort when she tells her mother about Ridge trying to talk her into signing annulment papers so that Hope and Liam can get married.
Ridge secretly informs Brooke that he doesn't think that Hope and Liam will be getting married anytime soon and that they need to stop the wedding.
Taylor receives a very thoughtful and yummy Valentine's Day present from Thorne.
Ridge attempts to convince Liam into waiting for a few months to marry Hope, out of respect for Steffy.
To protect his sister from any further emotional pain, Rick vows to take it upon himself to find out of Liam is truly the man for Hope.
